Scan or import
- Choose Scan to capture one or more paper pages with Apple's document scanner.
- Review the captured stack before saving it, or choose Import to bring in images, photos, or a PDF.
- Name the document, add it to a folder if helpful, and let printed-text recognition finish.
Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Imported PDFs are rasterized in page order and one import is limited to 200 pages.
Review a captured stack
- Check every captured page before saving.
- Review any possible-duplicate suggestion against the page images; PagePinch does not delete a suggested duplicate automatically.
- Select one or more pages to crop, rotate, filter, or delete in a batch.
- Review the final order and save the stack to the protected local library.
Duplicate suggestions are review aids and may be wrong. Keep any page you are unsure about.
Find and organize
Search by document title, folder, tags, or recognized page text. Use folders and favorites for items you need often. Recognition can contain errors, so compare critical details with the original page image.
Edit and reorganize pages
Open a document to crop or rotate pages, apply the available image filters, reorder pages, or remove an unwanted page. Merge two or more documents into a new document; extract selected pages into a new document; split one document into multiple groups; or copy or move selected pages between documents. Copy keeps the source pages in place. Move removes them from the source document only after the local operation succeeds. PagePinch keeps the source image pixels unchanged so visual edits can be regenerated without repeatedly recompressing previous output.
Fill and add visual signatures
- Open the page and choose Fill & Sign.
- Add typed text, a date, a checkmark, typed initials, or a signature drawn with a finger or Apple Pencil.
- Place and size each mark, and remove or undo a mark when needed.
- Save the page edits, then inspect the generated PDF before sharing.
The Date tool records a fixed value when the mark is inserted. Fill-and-sign marks remain editable local overlays and are flattened into generated PDF copies; the saved source page image is not overwritten.
Prepare a size-targeted PDF
- Open the document and choose Create PDF Copy.
- Select Original, Email, Portal, Tiny, or enter a custom KB or MB limit.
- Choose Prepare PDF Copy.
- Review the generated PDF, its measured size, and the explicit fits or does-not-fit result.
- Use system Save or Share only after you are satisfied with the preview.
Size targets are best efforts. PagePinch does not offer sharing when its smallest generated copy still misses the selected limit.
Troubleshooting
- The scanner does not open: confirm Camera access for PagePinch in Settings, then try again on a physical iPhone or iPad.
- A page is marked as a possible duplicate: compare it with the neighboring pages and keep it if the suggestion is uncertain.
- A page cannot be cropped or rotated: remove its Fill & Sign marks first, make the page adjustment, then add the marks again.
- Text is missing or inaccurate: use an evenly lit, sharp page and confirm the page orientation. Handwriting and unusual layouts may not recognize reliably.
- A PDF will not import: confirm it is not password protected and contains no more than 200 pages.
- The copy exceeds the limit: choose a smaller target or remove pages. Some image-heavy documents cannot reach very small limits while remaining readable.
Storage, backup, and deletion
Scans, recognized text, titles, folders, tags, crop and enhancement choices, page organization, typed fill entries, checkmarks, initials, drawn signature strokes, and mark placement remain in PagePinch's protected local library. Device backups may include this library according to the user's iCloud or computer-backup settings. Delete a document in PagePinch to remove its local record, page files, and fill-and-sign marks. Removing the app deletes its local library from that device. Files already saved or shared remain with their chosen destination.
Redownloads and refunds
PagePinch has no subscription and no in-app purchase to restore. A prior App Store purchase can be downloaded again with the same Apple Account when Apple makes it available. Apple controls payment, refund, territory, and Family Sharing eligibility; use Apple's purchase-support process for those questions.
Accessibility
Use the iPhone or iPad accessibility settings that work best for you. If a PagePinch control, label, reading order, contrast choice, or workflow is not usable with your setup, contact support with the device, OS version, accessibility feature, and screen where the issue occurs.
Known boundaries
- File-size targets are best efforts; PagePinch clearly reports when the smallest generated copy still exceeds the selected limit.
- Possible-duplicate flags are suggestions for review, not guarantees and not automatic deletions.
- PagePinch provides typed text, a fixed inserted date, checkmarks, typed initials, and drawn signatures—not arbitrary freehand markup or highlighting.
- PagePinch does not detect or edit AcroForm fields.
- Signatures and initials are visual marks, not certificate-backed digital signatures. PagePinch does not verify identity, provide tamper evidence, or guarantee legal validity or recipient acceptance.
- Imported PDFs are rasterized before editing and export. Password-protected PDFs are not supported, and one import is limited to 200 pages.
- OCR may contain errors and important documents should be checked against the original page image.
- Local app data may be included by the user's device backup settings.
- The camera workflow still requires a final smoke test on physical iPhone and iPad hardware.

Privacy
PagePinch processes and stores scans, recognized text, page edits, fill entries, signatures, and initials on your device and sends a PDF elsewhere only when you choose a system Save or Share destination. Device backups may include app data according to your settings. Read the PagePinch privacy policy.
