What Tiller Trace does
The app stores measurements, photos, notes, user-selected work zones, and user-recorded observations. It draws charts and lets you visually overlay two selected photos. It can preserve that record in a PDF or portable backup.
What it does not do
Tiller Trace does not inspect grain, knots, runout, checks, compression fractures, splinters, glue joints, backing, fasteners, string condition, tools, tillering fixtures, or the surrounding work area. It does not identify hinges, prescribe wood removal, calculate a safe load, certify workmanship, or approve a bow for drawing, shooting, sale, or use.
Photos and charts have limits
A photo can conceal depth, twist, grain violations, damage, and small changes. Camera position, perspective, lens distortion, crop, scale, rotation, uneven support, and lighting can make two safe or unsafe conditions look similar or different. A chart can only reflect the values entered and cannot validate the scale, fixture, method, or stave.
Use qualified judgment and direct inspection
Learn from qualified instruction and authoritative bowmaking, tool, adhesive, finish, string, and material guidance. Inspect the entire bow directly before, during, and after loading. Work within your training and the demonstrated limits of the actual material and design, not merely a target stored in the app.
Basic workshop precautions
Use appropriate eye and body protection, sound tools and fixtures, secure footing, and a clear work area. Keep people, animals, fragile property, and your body out of the possible path of a limb, string, fixture, weight, or fragment. Do not leave a bow loaded only to study or photograph it. Follow all local laws, range rules, and manufacturer instructions that apply.
Stop conditions
Stop loading and safely release the setup if you observe or hear cracking, lifting fibers, splintering, unexpected set, a rapidly changing bend, fixture movement, scale malfunction, string damage, tool damage, loss of control, or any condition you do not understand. The absence of a recorded warning does not mean the bow is safe.
No emergency function
Tiller Trace is not an emergency, medical, rescue, or incident response service. If someone is injured, stop work and contact the appropriate local emergency service or qualified medical professional.
