The short version
Local-only with no account, tracking, analytics, ads, or developer-operated backend.
Ink Caravan stores game progress and whole-term practice records only in its local app container. Raw writing strokes are evaluated on the device and are not saved or transmitted. The app sends no user data to Y Corp Technologies or third parties. Device backups may include app data according to the user's Apple device settings.
Who this policy covers
This policy describes the Ink Caravan app provided by Y Corp Technologies on supported iPhone and iPad devices. The separate Y Corp Technologies website privacy notice describes this website and its hosting logs.
Information stored only on your device
Ink Caravan stores a versioned game snapshot in its local app container. The snapshot contains the information needed to restore play, including:
- Combat stage, health, gold, companion strengthening, campaign seed and completion, route progress, and idle timestamps.
- Unlocked companions, companion levels, and ability state.
- Whole-word or phrase mastery, review timing, attempts, and prior character exposure.
- App settings needed to present and continue the game.
The app also keeps a last-known-good local save so it can recover if the current snapshot is invalid. Ink Caravan has no account, CloudKit container, custom synchronization service, or developer-operated backend that sends this information to Y Corp Technologies.
Writing input
Finger or stylus points are compared on the device with the bundled expected-character stroke template. The temporary raw points are used to provide immediate feedback and are discarded; Ink Caravan does not save or transmit drawings or handwriting samples.
The local snapshot records practice results for the whole word or phrase. It does not contain an image or vector copy of the written strokes.
Audio
Optional Mandarin playback uses an available Simplified Chinese system text-to-speech voice and the device’s audio output. Ink Caravan does not access the microphone, record speech, save audio, perform speech recognition, or grade pronunciation.
Network use and permissions
Ink Caravan’s core game, writing feedback, reviews, saves, and bundled content operate without a network connection. The app requests no access to the microphone, speech recognition, camera, photo library, contacts, calendars, location, motion, Bluetooth, local network, notifications, or tracking identifier.
Opening an app information, support, privacy, or acknowledgements link leaves Ink Caravan for the browser you select. The destination website and browser then apply their own privacy practices.
Analytics, advertising, and third parties
Ink Caravan includes no advertising, analytics, attribution, behavioral tracking, crash-reporting, login, payment, cloud-storage, or other executable third-party SDK.
The app bundles selected Hanzi Writer Data 2.0.1 character JSON files as static stroke data. These files do not execute code, connect to a data provider, or receive app or user information. Source attribution and the license appear on the Ink Caravan acknowledgements page .
Game and practice records stay in local app storage; Ink Caravan has no account, ads, analytics, tracking, or developer-operated backend.
App Store transactions
Ink Caravan is purchased through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the download, payment, refund, and related transaction information under Apple’s own terms and privacy practices. Ink Caravan and Y Corp Technologies do not receive your payment credentials. The app has no subscription or in-app purchase.
Retention, deletion, and backups
Local game and practice progress remains until you remove the app. Ink Caravan does not provide its own cloud sync, export, or restore service. Removing the app removes its local container, subject to backup and restore behavior independently managed by Apple.
Apple-managed device backups may include app sandbox data depending on your device and backup settings. Y Corp Technologies cannot access those backups.
Your choices and requests
Because Y Corp Technologies does not receive your app-local game or practice data, it cannot view, correct, export, or delete that information for you. Removing the app manages app-local information. There is no advertising sale, tracking opt-out, or app-account deletion process because Ink Caravan has no advertising, tracking, or accounts.
Support correspondence
Contacting support is optional and happens outside Ink Caravan through your email provider. If you email Y Corp Technologies, you provide the email address, message, and any device details or attachments you choose to include. That information is used to respond and maintain reasonably necessary support records; it is not sold or used for advertising.
You may ask for a support conversation to be deleted by writing to the same address, subject to limited legal or recordkeeping requirements. Please do not send sensitive information or handwriting samples.
Children
Ink Caravan is designed for adults and older teens beginning Mandarin and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not ask for a user’s age and does not collect app data. If a child uses the app, the same local-only practices described in this policy apply.
Security
App-local information is kept inside Apple’s app sandbox and relies on the device’s operating-system and backup protections. No security measure is perfect. Keeping the device updated and protected with a passcode helps protect locally stored progress.
International processing
Ink Caravan sends no app data to Y Corp Technologies, so the developer does not internationally transfer app-local game or practice information. If you choose to email support, that correspondence may be processed in countries where your email provider or Y Corp Technologies’ email provider operates.
