A private walking game for one explorer
Pick a street.

Grow your atlas.
City Ink follows an explicitly started expedition, rewards unique ground, and reveals a darkened city map around the places you reach. Close a loop around a block or park to fill and claim the enclosed area. Set a 0–5 mile or kilometer target in 0.5-unit steps. City Ink searches multiple Apple Maps directions and route alternatives for a loop first, then puts any remaining distance into a finishing out-and-back segment. Earn one point per meter and a 10% completion bonus with no penalty for changing course. Miles are the default, and every distance can switch to kilometers. Finish saves immediately. Favorite, revisit, or delete field notes, each with a street-map preview.
Finished walks are cleaned into compact display routes, and every claimed loop is stored once. Explore draws only nearby history and switches to aggregated exploration areas when zoomed out, keeping a large atlas responsive. Raw GPS remains authoritative for points and distance.
City Ink 0.6.0 supports iPhone on iOS 17 or newer and has no purchases. Recording, scoring, and history work locally. Loading uncached map detail, generating a new suggestion, creating a static preview, and optional street alignment require Apple MapKit; optional backup is stored in your own iCloud account.
