Enter the bound book block—not loose sheets—and treat every recommendation as a transparent starting range to dry-fit.
Import a sequential PDF, review the preview and blank-page plan, then print the duplex test before committing the full document.
Bindery Bench has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, subscription, or developer-operated cloud service.
In Case, choose the binding structure and enter the finished text-block width, height, and thickness. Confirm board, covering, and spine-material choices, then review board setback, hinge range, spine calculation, cut list, and the dry-fit sequence before cutting valuable material.
Book structures, cloth, paper, board, adhesive, and individual technique vary. Bindery Bench is a planning aid, not a substitute for a physical mock-up or the judgment required by an unfamiliar construction.
Enter the final page count and choose one to eight folded sheets per signature. One folded sheet contributes four pages. The app rounds up to complete signatures and shows total sheets, imposed pages, and deliberate blank pages.
Use a sequential PDF whose pages are already in normal reading order. Choose the finished page size, signature size, and duplex edge, then inspect the first imposed sheet before exporting. Bindery Bench processes the selected file on device.
The original PDF is not added to a saved project. Starting a new project or loading another project clears the active imported document. Only process a PDF that you own or are permitted to reproduce and bind.
Export and print the duplex test before the full imposed file. Use the edge instruction shown for the selected mode, print at 100% or Actual Size, and verify front/back orientation and the calibration mark on inexpensive paper. Printer drivers use different names, so trust the physical test rather than the label alone.
Choose unsupported, French-link, tape, Coptic, or pamphlet sewing, then review station positions and the thread estimate. Exported templates include fold, head, tail, and calibration marks. Print at 100% and measure the calibration mark before punching the final signatures.
Use Workshop to check paper and board grain, moisture balance, adhesive tests, dry-fit, print scale, and duplex setup. Material costs, substitutions, package cash outlay, allocation, and waste are planning estimates stored with the project.
Project names, measurements, settings, checklists, and cost inputs are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. Bindery Bench has no account or cloud-sync service. Deleting the app may remove local projects, subject to Apple device backup and restore behavior.
Bindery Bench is a paid download. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases. Apple handles downloads, payment, refunds, and Family Sharing availability through the App Store.
